Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear…

Bored with all the stuff Hollywood thinks you want to see?  Don’t care how desperate those housewives are?  Couldn’t care less who gets voted off (Survivor) (Dancing with the Stars) (America’s Got Talent)?

Back before television there was a wondrous thing called “RADIO”.  You sat there and listened to a story that painted a picture in your mind.  You could SEE the junk in Fibber McGee’s closet, you could SEE Jack Benny’s Maxwell, you could SEE Superman flying thru the air.

Well, here’s your chance to see with your mind’s eye again (or for the first time).  I’ve uploaded some old radio shows that you can download at your convenience and listen to on your computer.

Please email me if you download these and want me to put up some more.  If I don’t hear from you I have to assume there is no interest in this.

Lux Radio Theater- It’s a Wonderful Life- with Jimmy Stewart

Suspense- The Steel River Prison Break- an inmate escapes prison, but things don’t go as planned.  Very neat twist ending. http://tinyurl.com/yg93bw8

The Jack Benny Program- the famous “Your money or your life” episode-  http://tinyurl.com/jack-benny

Quiet Please- The Thing on the Fourble Board- a well driller encounters something really scary from the depths of the earth…don’t listen to this one with the lights out!  http://tinyurl.com/yla23k7

Mercury Theater- War of the Worlds- The most famous dramatic broadcast ever- October 30, 1938.  Many thought this was really happening.   http://tinyurl.com/yhszbun

Escape- The Invader- a high school teacher makes contact with an alien spaceship on his homemade radio. Stars Howard McNear (Doc on radio’s Gunsmoke and Floyd the barber on the Andy Griffith Show)  http://tinyurl.com/yc4glaw
